Vintage Black Oceans Globe

This is a rare vintage black oceans globe, which was manufactured under license to the American maker, Replogle Globes, Inc., based in Chicago, which were hugely popular in the 1950’s and 1960’s in the USA.

The retro 12″ globe is constructed of coated paper over cardboard and the oceans are finished in black, which contrast beautifully with the brightly colored land masses.

The mounting is a chromed metal ring, with dual-axis which allows the globe to spin and be tilted up or down. It sits on a chromed metal base.

This is an authentic vintage pieces, so there is some minor wear, consistent with its age and use.
