Vintage Wooden Skis and Poles
A rare find – these vintage wooden skis and poles, circa 1920, are in excellent condition for their age.
The wooden skis, probably made of hickory, are known as “nipple tip skis” due to the shape at the pointed tips at the front end of the skis, that were originally thought to cut and therefore track through snow with more efficiency.
The wooden ski poles have leather wrist loops and a rattan ring and leather basket.
Vintage wooden skis and poles like these are getting increasingly rare and have become highly collectable in recent years. They make wonderful display pieces either crossed and hung up or just leant up against a wall.
The skis and poles have marks and wear consistent with their age and use.
Dimensions: skis: 8 cms w x 201 cms long / poles: 135 cms long
