Large Vintage Solid Oak Reversible Bench

This large vintage solid oak reversible bench is a great piece of craftsmanship.

It has been extremely well made using mortice and tenon joints and wooden dowels and sits on beautifully turned wooden legs.  The seat itself comprises two lengths of oak.

The wooden back simply slides forwards or back to its resting place, making the bench reversible.

At 8 feet long, this very sturdy oak bench would work well in a large family kitchen. Place it by a large kitchen table for dining, then slide the back over and it becomes seating where you can chat or watch TV in the rest of your space.  The bench would also look great in a large hallway.

It would also be ideal as a communal bench in a restaurant or cafe and could be paired with item F/1181, which is very similar in style and design, but has a fixed back.

This piece has a lovely aged patina and warmth to it and is in very good condition for its age and use.
