Vintage Etched Glass Apothecary Bottle

Vintage Etched Glass Apothecary Bottle

This vintage etched glass apothecary bottle, would have been used in the early 1900’s for the storage of “BARIUM NITRATE”, which is acid etched on to the front panel. It comes with a ground glass stopper lid and is in good condition, with no chips or cracks.

The word apothecary, which entered the English language in the 14th Century, derives from the Latin word apothēca, meaning “storehouse.” It became a title for the person who was skilled in preparing medicines.

This vintage etched glass apothecary bottle would work well in a bathroom, with some other vintage bottles, or could be used as a bud vase.
