Vintage Glass Laboratory Flask

This vintage glass laboratory flask is made of heat resistant glass, known as borosilicate, which was originally developed in Jena, Germany by the chemist, Otto Schott, in 1884. It was developed for thermometers and measuring vessels, optical ware, laboratory, scientific and industrial uses.

The flask bears an acid etched stamp stating: “Schott Cen. Jena”

Today, it could be used simply as a decorative piece in a bathroom and it looks especially good when mixed with other glass laboratory ware.

Alternatively, it could be used as a vase for a single stem or simple foliage. it is also perfect for rooting plants or displaying air plants
