Vintage Green Glass Apothecary Bottle

Vintage Green Glass Apothecary Bottle

This vintage green glass apothecary bottle would have been used in the early 1900’s by an apothecary, for the storage of chemical compounds. It features the embossed words “NOT TO BE TAKEN” on the body and is in good condition.

The word apothecary, which entered the English language in the 14th Century, derives from the Latin word apothēca, meaning “storehouse.” It became a title for the person who was skilled in preparing medicines.

This vintage green glass apothecary bottle would work well together in a bathroom, with some other vintage bottles, or could be used as a bud vase.
